There are a lot of misconceptions
about Islam in contemporary films, whether local or international. There are also misconceptions about
Islam in the poetry and prose genre but we believe it is not as widespread as
in films and they do not reach as wide an audience as films in general.

Films have a wider audience,
especially amongst the Malaysian contemporary young audience, in comparison to
poetry and prose, mainly because Malaysians are generally not a reading society.
3.
The messages portrayed in films
are implicit and does not need to be consciously deduced.
4.
Poetry can be a subject of its
own and at times is too technical and isn’t clear-cut.
5.
Films are for everyone,
regardless of age, race and religion.
